REVIEW : The Radio Sun --- Unstoppable (2017)

Australian melodic hard rock act The Radio Sun is going to release its brand new opus with the title "Unstoppable". This is the band's already fourth full-length record and once again the album was mixed by Paul Laine (ex-Danger Danger, solo, The Defiants).

Andy Shanahan of Roxus is a special guest on 'Unstoppable'. Guitar player Stevie Janevski states about this:  "it's awesome to have Andy play keyboards on the song “ and be a part of our new album. Roxus were by far the best AOR band Australia has had - a real honour!"

Personally, I love all the band's previous releases and I was expecting this one anxiously. For those who aren't familiar with The Radio Sun's sound, allow me to say that this band plays pure and updated melodic rock/AOR stuff that includes heavenly influenced melodies, catchy hooks and choruses, edgy guitars and, in general, it is a must have for every fan of this genre.

"Heaven On Earth" which kicks-off the new record is pure melodic heaven. A superb melody and a sing-along chorus to die for are the ingredients of this melodic gem. Excellent!!! "Only You" is just awesome and grabs you with its sensational and very rhythmic tempo while in "Tonight's The Night" the band delivers an edgier track that features a cool guitar solo.

In "Surrender Your Heart", we have another killer song that recalls the late 80's U.S. scene and bands such as Danger Danger and Bon Jovi. Yes, I just love this one!! The up-tempo "Set The Night On Fire", the anthemic "Unstoppable" and the commercial "Whenever You Want" completes the puzzle of this superb album in such a great way!!

The Radio Sun for sure don't have a magic recipe or something else. They are a bunch of guys that they love to play simple, melodic and soulful melodic rock that speaks straight to your heart.

Rating : 8,8/10
